Lael Brainard is an American business analyst and an associate in the U.S. Federal Reserve’s Board of Governors. Lael Brainard Early Life and Education
Lael Brainard was born on January 1, 1962. She was raised by her parents in Hamburg, West Germany. Her father, Alfred Brainard was a U.S. foreign-service officer and diplomat. She grew up initially in West Germany but later moved to Poland before the Revolutions of 1989 and the Fall of the Berlin Wall.
She received her bachelor’s degree of arts from the College of Social Studies with university honours from Wesleyan University. Later he completed her Master’s program and doctoral degree in economics from Harvard University. In Harvard, she was a National Science Foundation Fellow.
