Shelley Lenz served at Hagyard Equine Medical Institute in Lexington, Kentucky for three years before she moved to North Dakota. She has always aimed to provide accessible veterinary care to rural areas. In 2007, she began her first practice. She also volunteered with a non-profit veterinary program on service trips to northern Guatemala. In 2012, her practice expanded to Dickinson. Shelley Lenz always focused on improving the community’s lives and focusing on financial independence. She also organizes externships and internships at the Nicaraguan Clinic for favorable candidates.
Shelley Lenz has founded Sustainable Vets Internation in 2014 and serves as a president to provide sustainable economic development. Her organization focuses on veterinary care, agriculture, and skill development training.
Shelley Lenz is racing for Governor of North Dakota. She won the Democratic primary election with 99.4 percent of the votes, on June 9, 2020. The general election is going to held on November 3, 2020. She filed for governor on a joint ticket with lieutenant governor candidate Big Vig.
