Talking about Gowdy’s career, Gowdy worked for John P. Gardner on the South Carolina Court of Demands. In April 1994, he was elected US Attorney General. As a federal prosecutor, he received the highest performance ratings for two consecutive years.

In the Republican primary, he beat acting attorney Holman Gossett while running unopposed in the general election to become an attorney for the 7th Judicial District of South Carolina.

As the head of a firm of 25 attorneys, Gowdy became the 7th attorney to take on several ingenuity, including setting up a worthless check program. Others include a Task Force on Violence Against Women, which enforces a Drug Mother Protocol and expands the Drugs Court.

During the June 2010 primaries, Gowdy received 39% of the vote, while Inglis and other challengers, namely Jim Lee, David L. Thomas, and Christina Jeffrey received 27%, 14%, 13%, and 7%. of the votes, respectively.

He then defeated Democratic candidate Paul Corden, among others, and won the fourth election for the congressional district in South Carolina in 2010.

On January 3, 2011, he assumed office as a member of the United States House of Representatives from the 4th District of South Carolina. He managed to keep his seat during the 2012, 2014, and 2016 elections, winning four times in a row.

He is also part of the ethics committee; Permanent Elected Secret Service Committee; and the Government Oversight and Reform Committee, including its Subcommittee on Health Care, Benefits and Regulations and the Subcommittee on Intergovernmental Affairs.

He opposed the Defense Liquidation Act of 2011. He was also not in favor of Spokesman John Boehner’s debt limit and rejected it during the 2011 US debt ceiling crisis in August of that year.

He was one of 34 congressmen who ranked highest in incorporating metrics that year to receive the award. His score was 97 out of 100.

He was appointed in July 2015 by this Republican candidate as a possible candidate for Attorney General in Donald Trump’s cabinet. However, Gowdy’s support for Senator Marco Rubio as president defeated his equation with the abused Trump campaign.

When Rubio lost the Republican primary to Trump in his home state of Florida and was eliminated from the presidential race on March 15, 2016.

In May 2018, Gowdy challenged President Trump’s unfounded conspiracy theory that the FBI was spying on his 2016 presidential campaign.
